Special Gpa & Gma Time

He is risen indeed!

Happy Easter! Carver's 2nd-Cooper's 4th. Last Easter was a blur of tears, but this one, much more enjoyable! And for the record, I lost my camera on Easter Sunday, so these two pictures are the only ones I already had uploaded. It will show up...I hope. The weekend before Easter, I (super mom), bought the kids coordinating Easter outfits (plaid shorts and polos-of which you may never see a picture of). Saturday afternoon, I took them proudly (in jeans, because it was like 30) to the local farm store to see the Easter bunny. As soon as he appeared, Cooper FREAKED out saying, "Who's under there?" I tried to ignore it, and talk about how fun it was going to be and about the candy you get after you sit on the bunny's lap. Cooper, almost in tears, kept repeating, "I don't want to. I don't want to." AWESOME! So, he didn't. Carver, got sat on the bunny's lap, starting bawling, and so ONE picture was taken. End of story. So much the being super mom! When we got home, I tried to get pictures of them together (with an Easter basket-yay me), but that didn't go well either. UGH!
Late Saturday, Auntie Jenny came to town and she and Cooper and I dyed eggs! It was a first for me and Coop and we enjoyed it! They were hard boiled so Coop and Jenny enjoyed a snack afterwards, and the rest we just looked at all week! Cooper hated the color staying on his hands, so they were nearly raw by the time he went to bed from so much scrubbing. Jenny brought Cooper new socks (it's their special thing), and he proceeded to wear both pairs at the same time for almost a week before I got a whiff of them and made him take them off, so I could spray them with Lysol before washing them!

Easter Sunday was spent at my parent's house. The kids enjoyed a few small gifts and playing outside together (there's a good four-wheeling picture when I find the camera). Gma Teresa & Gpa Tom loved having the family together to celebrate our Savior's resurrection!

We came home to the boys' Easter basket filled with a new swimming pool, pool boys, bubbles, and a shovel. They also got new red Jesup Gym t-shirts and a wagon (they don't know that yet though, because it has to be returned...it's missing a part).

Now, bring on the warm weather so we can go swimming!

Yes, that's 10 tatoos total.

This was NOT my idea. But I'm trying to be more laid back these days. They can't hurt anything, right? And they wash off easily. (No wonder he has fought a bath for 3 days now!)

Mr. Rabbit

Mr. Rabbit is our new pet. Most mornings, he is outside the boys' window. (We've actually seen 2 a few times.) Cooper has started to feed him. The first week we fed him apples. Now we are on to carrots. A few mornings ago, he was close enough so we could sit on the step and talk to him. Cooper warned him to stay away from the neighbors fence, because two dogs live there.

Cooper usually has to be reminded to stay back so he doesn't scare him. He checks the food pile every night, to make sure Mr. Rabbit still has food. On nights when we don't see him, Cooper makes up ideas of where he is. The other night he was "at the neighbors, watching a movie". The evergreen behind the shed is where Cooper thinks he lives.

April SNOW brings May....?!

Saturday, April 16th Cooper was out scooping the deck off and throwing snow balls!

We even saw a car in the ditch that morning around 7, on the way to Waterloo (how quickly people forget how to drive when it's snowing!).

Emergeny Appendectomy

Friday afternoon I was taken to the emergency room and later into surgery for an emergency appendectomy. Cooper and Carver spent the night at daycare (dear friends of ours). Gma Teresa & Gpa Tom came down and Gma spent the night in the hospital with me. Cooper was explained to all of what was going on by Jolene & Gma.

The following are some conversations he shared with them and then with me after I got home.

Questions/concerns to Jolene: Whether or not I had my jammies; Whether or not I had a bed; Who was going to stay with me; If I was scared; Why did I have to stay; He was sad and wanted me home (did feel better when he realized Gma Teresa was staying with me). Cooper and Jolene did a lot of praying for mommy and the doctors.

Cooper & Gma conversations:

C:Did mommy have jammies at the dr's?

G:No, the dr. gave mommy some jammies.

C:What color were mommy's jammies?

G:White, with light blue flowers. It was like a big tshirt.

C:Grandma, did the dr. give you jammies too?

G:No, grandma brought her own jammies.

C:Where did you sleep?

G:The drs gave me a bed to sleep right by mommy.

C:Why did mommy's tummy hurt?

G:I don't know Cooper, but God is going to make mommy's tummy feel better very soon. Thank you God for drs, medicine, and helping mommy's tummy feel better.

Cooper & Mommy conversation:

C:How did you get sick?

M:I don't know Cooper.

C:From eating too much?

M:I don't know, maybe.

C:And drinking too much? Like me and Carver?

M:Oh, I don't know buddy. Is that how you and Carver got sick? (He must have been remembering their recent bout with the flu.)

C:Yup. Carver was sick at Gma's. He had a tempur. [temperature] In his pitter. [armpit]

Cooper was very excited to find out I had three "owies" because he's three and loves that number lately. He likes to look at them and ask if they're better. He's very helpful around the house and is always careful around mommy's tummy...often scolding his brother for not being careful. What a good little nurse!!
