Happy Birthday Mommy!

I received a night's stay at a hotel for my birthday, so the boys and I enjoyed dinner out, the pool, room service, cable tv, an awesome shower, a king size bed (for 3!), and an awesome breakfast buffet! (We are thinking about moving in!)

Favorite parts:

Cooper: Watching movies in bed
Carver: The pool
Mommy: The food!

Meeting Marlo!

The boys finally got to meet their "cousin" Marlo Sylvia Lewis when "Aunt Jenny", Marlo, the boys, and I made a surprise trip to Iowa City to have supper with "Aunt Kayla"!

Traditions

So much for traditions! Well, I guess I SORT OF followed through.

I had started the tradition that "Christmas Eve" we would open one present. (Every year it will be new pajamas...I can't wait to see how old they are when they finally realize that!). Then "Christmas morning" we would open stockings and then the rest of the presents. Those DAYS aren't necessarily DATES anymore, with their holiday schedule with their dad being somewhat different each year.

This year the plan was they would go to their dad's on the morning of the 23rd, so I had planned to let them open one present the night of the 22nd, and the rest the morning of the 23rd.

The 21st however, I started getting a migraine and could have been convinced of anything. Sure enough, Cooper asked to open "just ONE present". "Sure"...I didn't care at that point! So, they got new jammies (pictured in a previous post). By the time the 22nd rolled around, I was over the "tradition", still not feeling that great, and thought, "Why not?!" This way they would have more time to play with their new things anyway!

Make two piles of presents...ready, set....GO!

Favorites:

Cooper-new shirts
Carver-tool box
Mommy's favorite gift to give-a giant white cardboard house to be colored and lots of markers!

A Handful In The House!

Cooper is 5!

We celebrated with a bowling pizza party. It had been jammie day at school in Pre-K, so Hunter rocked his jammies, as did Carver (just a regular thing for him!).

Cooper got to invite two friends. I would say his picks were his best friends, Jaydon (his best friend from daycare for as long as we can remember) and Hunter (his friend from school & neighbor boy).

Falling Off The Wagon

No, I haven't completely fallen off the face of the earth. Sorry for the break in updates. I'm back! I haven't been taking as many pictures these days, or writing our "sillies" down...I need to get better about it tho! Our life is full of smiles these days, and the kids aren't growing up any slower! I hope you're ready for some fun! Here's a look back at December & January!

Blizzard

Thursday, December 20th, we woke up to a winter wonderland. The state was worried about the blizzard and road conditions, but the brothers were just worried about how fast they could get their gear on, the sleds out, and the snowman made!

Merry Christmas!

Farmer Carver

Carver came into the bathroom this morning while I was getting ready, holding a mama and baby calf from his farm set. He very seriously looked at me and said, "Hey mommy, can you get me some water for these guys?"
